A beautiful and rare 5.02 carat unheated, natural Ceylon sapphire set in an 18ct gold ring. The sapphire is native cut, nice mid-deep blue colour. The sapphire has been examined by GSL in Sydney. The stone certification is shown in the photos.
The shoulders of the ring are adorned by 6 old mine cut diamond, and 4 rose cut diamonds, totalling 1.12 carats.
The ring is chunky and heavy to suit the size of the sapphire. The ring is in great condition with the hallmarks looking like the day they were struck. The ring is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1876.
